Mission statement
CareerFoundry is a global community of educational experts, career specialists, mentors, and tutors who are united in the belief that, given the right tools, anyone can develop the skills they need to build a career they love. As an online school, the programs empower students to launch life-changing careers in tech—on their own terms and supported by experts.
The CareerFoundry Blog provides quality information, industry insights, and actionable advice to our readers. It aims to make tech accessible and support career change with skills, knowledge, and guidance.
Values
Editorial integrity
Our Editorial Team is committed to offering content that is relevant, accurate, honest, and informative. This integrity is reflected throughout the publication process, from our selection of various voices to contribute to the blog, to our article editing and fact-checking.
You can read about how our team achieves this in the Editorial Guidelines and Standards and Editorial Ethics and Professionalism sections.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion
CareerFoundry’s commitment to enabling anyone to build a new career on their own terms, regardless of their background is well-established. As well as publishing a DEI report about its staff and students, this is also reflected in the aims of the blog as well, which seeks to embrace diverse and inclusive perspectives on tech.
The CareerFoundry Blog currently has over 120 contributors from all over the world. They bring their own experience of working in various tech industries, which enriches the content of the blog. As well as helping to avoid harmful and potentially exclusionary stereotypes, this also enriches the blog with their insights.
2. Editorial guidelines and standards
The CareerFoundry editorial standards are ensured through a combination of factors. This includes strict adherence to the CareerFoundry style guidelines, editorial and peer review of all blog articles, and a no-tolerance approach to plagiarism.
Accuracy and fact-checking
The in-house Editorial Team is made up of professional editors with demonstrable editing and publishing experience.
The standard CareerFoundry publishing process includes proofreading, copy-editing, and structural and stylistic editing to ensure that the blog’s reputation for relevant, factually correct, and unbiased material is upheld at all times.
Use of reliable sources
Our team of writers and editors carefully selects sources with a proven track record of accuracy, expertise, and objectivity.
We strive to draw from authoritative publications, academic journals, government reports and websites, and renowned experts in the relevant fields. When citing research, we ensure the methodologies are sound, the results are properly interpreted, and sources are referenced.
Plagiarism and attribution
Plagiarism is strictly prohibited and we conduct extensive checks to ensure the authenticity and originality of all material.
All content, including text, images, and multimedia, is either created by our team of writers, sourced from licensed providers, or freely available under fair use. Further information on this is available under the Editorial Ethics and Professionalism section.
When referencing external sources, we attribute the content to its original authors.
3. Authorship
CareerFoundry writers are carefully selected based on their experience and fields of expertise.
As part of the commitment to quality control, CareerFoundry authors all undergo a standard review process. Our team consists of experienced professionals and subject matter experts who are passionate about the topics they cover.
Bylines and author credentials
Each article published on our blog carries a clear byline that identifies the author responsible for the content and links to their own author page, where their industry experience and personal websites can be seen.
We value transparency and believe that showcasing the expertise and credentials of our writers enhances the trust of our readers.
Guest contributions
Guest submissions are welcomed at the discretion of our editors. However, these are privy to the same careful selection process and editorial review as regular blog contributions.
Guest contributors are expected to adhere to all CareerFoundry guidelines, and we conduct thorough checks to verify the authenticity and accuracy of their submissions.
4. Editorial ethics and professionalism
Responsible use of images and media
We have a responsible approach when it comes to using images and other media in the CareerFoundry Blog.
We obtain the necessary licenses when using media, and videos are included only when they are of relevance and benefit to our readers. Diversity and inclusivity are also vital when it comes to the selection of images, and we seek to reflect the ethos of the company in the figures portrayed.
Responsible use of generative AI
Just as we teach our students about using generative AI tools ethically and responsibly, so too do we seek to prevent the dissemination of inaccurate, harmful, or misleading content on the CareerFoundry Blog.
We are transparent about generative AI’s limitations and encourage our writers to not use it as a factually-based source.
Responsible use of language
As well as ensuring that the contributors to the blog practice what they preach when it comes to writing inclusively, we seek to make all blog content accessible to people using screen readers or other assistive devices.
Though CareerFoundry courses and programs are technical in nature, we also seek to make every topic clear and approachable to beginners. Through implementing clear and plain language, this helps non-native English speakers, as well as readers who have a mental or cognitive disability.
This is achieved by following an in-depth guide to inclusive writing and is reinforced during editorial review.
5. Our commitment
Upholding the editorial policy

Through adherence to these editorial policies, we strive to be a trusted source of knowledge, insights, and advice. If you have any questions or concerns about our policy or content, please contact us with your feedback.
